The Virginia Policy Review exists to publish them well.
We publish rigorous, accessible policy writing by students at the University of Virginia and beyond. We hold that policy is not an abstraction but the structure beneath ordinary life, and that writing about it well is a form of public service. We seek out arguments that are honest before they are comfortable, and we engage across disciplines and across the aisle.
Our theme for the 2026–27 year is Virtue in Action: the conviction that scholarship should be not merely correct but consequential. Through the print journal, Beyond Bias, and Academical Angle, we are working to carry student writing into genuine public dialogue, and to build an institution that outlasts any one editorial board.
